The food was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but definitely not the worst. A good solid place to go to eat.

Authentic food by authentic people. The chicken mole was bomb, and the sides, Spanish rice and refried beans, were on point. When you walk in, you get a real sense that the establishment is a part of the community. With an old school cool that is cheesy in that loving and fun way, it's definitely a good place to hang out and grab some tasty Mexican food, for any group or family. Oh, if you order a beer, they give you a nice big glass that's ice chilled, with a little lime wedge on the rim. I definitely appreciated that attention to detail.

I was shocked when we tried to visit Plaza de Mexican and this place was at the same location in its place. I think it is same owners and place has not changed much but this was not a great experience. First off, the service has gone way downhill here. The place cannot accommodate the amount of people that visit the place and gets so over crowded the service suffers. We waited about 10 times the usual wait time for our food and the staff could of cared less. Plus they raised the prices here for the same menu and entrees and drinks which makes this even a less desirable place to choose for local Mexican. If I want Mexican cheaper I can go down the street to Acapulco's in Franklin for about half the price. I am now less inclined to visit this place knowing the staff can't handle the crowds. However the food still is quality and tastes good.

Honestly, I could talk about a lot of things (including how bad jalapenos is) but I'd like to stay positive. If you're on the fence at all, just cut the additional psuedo analysis and come here. It's the best service you'll ever get and the food is definitely a step above standard. Try the carne asada, it's delicious!
